A pharmaceutical company’s Spartanburg County distribution facility will close in early 2027, impacting 195 employees.

A Worker and Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Report from SC Works released Thursday announced the Smith Drug Company on Fairforest Road will begin downsizing in September, continuing through February 2027.

The wholesaler supplies durable and home medical equipment; generic, branded, and over-the-counter medications; as well as gifts and novelty merchandise to pharmacy owners.

The company reportedly notified state officials of closure Thursday.
