This little moon liked it enough to put a ring on it 💍

You're looking at a photo of Enceladus. This icy world orbits Saturn and is only around 310 miles across—about as wide as the U.S. state of Arizona. It has a liquid ocean below its icy shell, but it is also covered in geysers that shoot water vapor and ice particles into space.

Enceladus may be small, but it’s mighty enough to put a ring around the planet it orbits. The spray from this moon’s geysers shoots high enough to add to Saturn’s bling, directly producing a hazy halo known as the E ring.

The filters that our Voyager 2 used for this photo give this moon a blushy pink hue. In reality, Enceladus is bright white. This moon has the most reflective body in our solar system.
