This isn't a drill. Automakers are warning that new connected-vehicle privacy rules may force a stop-sale on new and used vehicles in the state.

The law is designed to protect domestic violence survivors. It requires manufacturers to let drivers disable vehicle tracking and revoke remote access for others within two days.

The Alliance for Automotive Innovation, representing most major brands, says they can't meet the deadline for all requirements.
