Sony and Honda’s Afeela project was supposed to feel like the future.

Now the first two North American models are gone.

Sony Honda Mobility is canceling the Afeela 1 sedan and its planned crossover follow-up, even with production already underway in Ohio. 

Honda says the business assumptions behind the joint venture were “fundamentally altered” by slower EV demand, tariffs, weak traction in Asia, and a much bigger corporate pullback.
