Roughly twelve months after GM shut down Cruise, autonomy is back in the conversation with a narrower, more grounded scope.

The company is developing hands-free, eyes-off driver assistance for personally owned vehicles, starting on highways and using large platforms like the Escalade IQ as testbeds.

Eyes-off driving is no longer a research project.

It’s becoming a product decision, shaped by how technology holds up in everyday ownership.
