A new school year brings new routines, new opportunities, and new ways to support young people. Throughout Back-to-School Month, we're highlighting Caring for Denver grantees that are helping children, youth, and families build strong foundations for mental health and well-being. 

Grantee Spotlight: PlatteForum

PlatteForum empowers Denver youth through the arts while ensuring they have the mental health support needed to thrive. Through its year-round ArtLab program, high school students build creative skills, confidence, and meaningful relationships in a welcoming environment where wellness is woven into every aspect of the experience.

With support from Caring for Denver, PlatteForum provides ArtLab participants with a comprehensive network of mental health services, including individual therapy, peer support groups, wellness workshops, and therapist-supported community outings. By partnering with licensed clinicians, youth and their families have access to free, culturally responsive therapy, while workshops and group activities help participants build practical skills like emotional regulation, stress management, and resilience. These layered supports create multiple pathways for young people to connect with care in ways that feel approachable, consistent, and supportive.

By combining creativity, connection, and accessible mental health care, PlatteForum is helping Denver youth build resilience, strengthen their well-being, and prepare for bright futures.
