Hops win big! It was much needed therapy for a team that has been experiencing their share of challenges as of late. Thursday night's 13-3 win over the Everett AquaSox at Hillsboro Hops Ballpark breathed new life into the side. It started on a good omen with lead off batter Slade Caldwell doubling in the first inning and later being brought home for the initial run by Kenny Castillo. In the second Caldwell pulled off a sacrifice bunt to score Avery Owusu-Asiedu from third after Everett got in the board in the top of the inning. The AquaSox pulled ahead with two runs in the fifth, but the Hops responded with three runs in the sixth as Kayson Cunningham stole home on a wild pitch, Jakey Josepha scored courtesy of a Wallace Clark single and Diosfran Cabeza singling to bring home Wallace Clark. The Hops produced two more runs in the seventh with Wallace Clark stealing home on a wild pitch and a Kenny Castillo sacrifice fly to left field to score Kayson Cunningham from third. Hillsboro put the icing on the cake in the eighth with a six run flurry started off by Avery Owusu-Asiedu scoring from a single by Diosfran Cabeza. Next, Kayson Cunningham tripled to right field bringing home Slade Caldwell and J.D. Dix. Cunningham was then brought home as Yassel Soler popped a soft hit into shallow center field. The Hops scoring concluded on a Wallace Clark triple to right field to score Yassel Soler and Kenny Castillo.
