*Check the tires and spare to ensure they have the correct air pressure, are free from dry rot, and are in good condition.

* Ensure the brake system functions properly, with no excessive corrosion on calipers and shoes, and ensure the brake lines are undamaged.

* Check the functionality of the lighting system; ensure all lights are working and respond correctly to tow vehicle commands.

*Don’t forget to pack all the tools you need to change a tire if you have a flat. This includes a four-way lug wrench, the tools needed to remove the spare tire, a block to elevate the flat tire, a jack if necessary, and road safety markers for any roadside issues.

*Secure the boat with properly rated tie-down straps during towing.
