'swimming' by mac miller came out 8 years ago today 🌊🕊️

during the roll out process for 'swimming,' mac released a freestyle called 'inertia' that ended with him jokingly saying "august 3rd" like he did when he was promoting his work when he was younger

now that august 3rd has officially come around, it has me a bit emotional

it always hurts to know that more time has passed without one of the greatest artists of our generation to experience life with us, but there is a special level of comfort to still have mac's music

'swimming' has been the soundtrack to some of my darkest moments and my highest highs, and i just had to make this post to say thank you to mac for all he left us

his music changed my life and millions of others, and i am just so grateful to have projects like 'swimming' and so many others by him to soundtrack every day

rest in peace to one of the greatest people and musicians that the music industry has ever seen, and make sure to give the album a spin today to celebrate 🫂
