Tom Holland has been praised after opening up about how dyslexia has affected his career. The Spider-Man star revealed he has turned down hosting Saturday Night Live because he's "heavily dyslexic" and finds the show's cue cards intimidating.⁠

Speaking on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, Holland said: "They've asked me a few times to do it and the truth is that I'm just really scared... I'm just so petrified at the concept of trying to read something and they change."⁠

Holland also shared that reading scripts out loud can be a challenge, saying he often prepares extensively before table reads by highlighting and learning his lines in advance.⁠

The Dyslexia Association described his comments as "powerful and genuinely brave", while charity Scope said they highlight some of the challenges disabled people can face at work.⁠

His openness has also been welcomed by people with dyslexia, with one woman telling the BBC it helps show that although it can be difficult, it's still possible to have a successful career.⁠
