This week’s #MemberMonday highlights Joanne Flovella, a screenwriter, director, and actress with a passion for filmmaking who’s stories explore themes of womanhood, mental health, and our connection to the world around us.

The Miami native’s upcoming project, Athena’s Promise, is a proof-of-concept for a short film that follows a rebel during the Haitian Revolution who learns she can defend her bloodline across time and space. She is expanding this proof-of-concept to eventually be a full length feature film script!
