Episode 10 of The Fencing Show captures the scale, energy, and competitive spirit of the world’s largest fencing tournament, held in Portland for the first time since the 1970s.

With 6,000 fencers ranging in age from 7 to 89, representing 46 states and 54 countries, and championships awarded across more than 90 medal events, Portland Summer Nationals showcased the very best of fencing at every level. Across 105 strips and a packed schedule of championship bouts, the event delivered one of the most memorable Nationals in recent history.

This episode also spotlights three standout teams whose stories reflect the depth and diversity of the sport.

The Senior Women’s Foil gold medalists from Renaissance Fencing Club won the event out of 12 teams, bringing together a Michigan-based group with strong family ties, international experience, and championship pedigree. Featuring Adeline Senic, JoJo Conway, and Emma Klostermann of Germany, the team’s success reflects the blend of talent, chemistry, and momentum that defines elite fencing.

In Veteran Women’s Saber, Nona Lim’s team battled back from a semifinal loss to earn bronze, adding another podium finish to a résumé already filled with strong national and world veteran results. The composite squad reflects the spirit of veteran fencing, with athletes who are also club owners, entrepreneurs, and longtime medalists committed to competing at the highest level.

The Senior Men’s Epee gold medalists came out on top in a field of 50 teams, featuring world team members, national champions, coaches, and rising stars. With Gabriel M. Feinberg, Elijah S. Imrek, Oleg Knysh, and Ari Simmons, the team showcased the experience, depth, and high-performance mindset that fuel championship fencing.
