August 8th is International Cat Day! We have a variety of cat engravings in our print shop at the Sacramento History Museum that we can choose from but only one of the individuals who works in the shop has a pet cat. For today, Channey letterpress printed a photo engraving of a large cat that we received as a gift from a couple of our viewers in Folsom. The text below, “International Cat Day,” was typeset in 24 point Caslon font. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. #SacHistoryMuseum #InternationalCatDay #catsoftiktok #museumtok #printing
