Champion filly NITROGEN, a multiple graded stakes winner on both dirt and turf, will face her toughest challenge yet in Saturday’s GI Whitney Stakes at Saratoga as she takes on the boys. The field includes formidable contenders Magnitude, Antiquarian, Forged Steel, White Abarrio, Sovereignty, Tiztastic, and Baeza.

Nitrogen, a D. J. Stable homebred trained by Mark Casse, is a 2x Grade I winner who most recently won the GI Ogden Phipps Stakes at the Spa on June 5.

She aims to be the seventh filly in history to win the prestigious Whitney Stakes, with only two having managed the feat in the last four decades: Lady’s Secret and Personal Ensign.
