Minnesota hemp businesses are bracing for major changes as a federal ban on intoxicating hemp-derived THC products approaches.

The restrictions are scheduled to take effect Nov. 12 and could prevent businesses from shipping products such as THC gummies, edibles and drinks across state lines. Twin Cities business owners say losing those out-of-state customers could threaten a significant part of their operations.

The ban would not make THC products illegal in Minnesota, and members of Congress are considering efforts to delay the restrictions while lawmakers debate an alternative.
