Only in Arizona does your commute get held up by fruit.

DPS says a semi-truck overturned Wednesday morning on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Palo Verde Road in Buckeye. It was hauling bananas. Video from the scene shows boxes of them spilled along the side of the freeway with a construction vehicle working to clear it out, and the trailer took serious damage.

Minor injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved. Investigators are still figuring out what caused it to flip.

Traffic is getting by out there, but slow down and give yourself extra time if you’re heading east through the West Valley this morning. That stretch has no good detour and everybody learns that the hard way exactly once.
