Four years after she vanished from Sedona, remains found in Sycamore Canyon have been identified as 38-year-old Yolan Miller.

Miller disappeared in June 2022 after telling her roommate she was leaving for a meeting in Jerome. She never made it back home and did not show up for her shift at Safeway days later, prompting her boss to report her missing.

Later that week, her Ford Escape was found abandoned on a remote forest service road near the Honanki Heritage Site northwest of Sedona. Her purse, driver’s license, Social Security card and credit card were still inside the vehicle. Her phone and keys were gone.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office has now confirmed that remains discovered in Sycamore Canyon belonged to Miller. Investigators have not said exactly where she was found, how long she had been there or what happened to her, citing the active investigation.
