Update on Venezuela.

Eight days since twin earthquakes struck Venezuela, thousands of families are still living in parks, stadiums, and makeshift shelters — many staying close to their damaged homes to protect their belongings and maintain their support networks.

In La Guaira, the hardest-hit area, and across more than 40 makeshift settlements in La Guaira, Caracas, Miranda, and Falcón, our teams are on the ground delivering critical support to the most vulnerable — including children, elderly people, and mothers. 
Here's what Action Against Hunger has been doing:
 
 🔵 Distributing hygiene kits, menstrual health kits, nappies for babies and adults, and cleaning supplies to hundreds of families who have lost their homes. 
 
🔵 Supporting elderly people in shelters with hygiene kits and supplies tailored to their needs. 

🔵 Providing rescue and civil protection teams with protective equipment, tools, and logistical support.

🔵 Conducting multi-sectoral assessments in coordination with other organizations and the UN system.

🔵 The emergency will not end with the conclusion of rescue operations. Recovery will require a sustained effort — particularly to ensure safe and dignified living conditions for thousands of families.
