In 2023, our team at the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute became the first in the world to test this device, the Layer 7 Cortical Interface, in a living patient. Dr. Peter Konrad led the procedure alongside our partners at Precision Neuroscience, opening the door to brain-computer interfaces that could one day restore independence for people living with paralysis and other neurological conditions.
