STEP 3: ATTACK THE MESSENGER

First, they dismissed the problem.

Then they tried to control the information.

When that didn't stop the truth from coming out, they turned their attention to the people exposing it.

Instead of explaining why reported human remains weren't promptly recovered...

Instead of explaining why deputies failed to respond...

Instead of answering questions about women left in the desert...

The attacks began.

We were called untrained.

We were accused of planting bones.

We were smeared instead of answered.

It's an old tactic. When you can't defend the record, attack the witness.

Here's the part they never expected:

We kept showing up.

We kept hiking.

We kept documenting.

We kept reporting every site through the proper channels.

We never touched human remains. We documented, photographed, recorded GPS coordinates, notified authorities, and continued searching.

If your first response to evidence is to attack the people who found it instead of investigating what they reported, you've stopped searching for the truth.

You're protecting a narrative.

The dead deserve better.

Their families deserve better.

The people of Doña Ana County deserve better.
