Seven people have died after a private bus overturned and plunged onto a lower road in the Himalayan town of Chamba, India, police said on Saturday. The bus was travelling from Bairagarh to Chamba when it crashed just five kilometres into the 90-kilometer journey, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Dinesh Sharma. The vehicle was carrying 18 passengers, seven of whom died at the scene. Locals rushed to the site to help pull survivors and bodies from the wreckage, and the injured were taken to Government Medical College Chamba for treatment. The cause of the crash has not yet been established.
