Lt. Gen. Tony D. Bauernfeind’s career came full circle during his retirement ceremony at #USAFA, where he began his journey as a member of the Class of 1991.

After more than three decades of service, Lt. Gen. Bauernfeind retired as the 22nd Superintendent, following a career that included:

As Superintendent, Lt. Gen. Bauernfeind focused on preparing cadets for the #FutureFight by strengthening military training, developing leaders and strengthening the Academy’s warfighter focus.

In his final address, he reminded cadets of the responsibility that comes with choosing a life of service:
“𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂. 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.”

Lt. Gen. Bauernfeind’s career reflects a lifetime of service to the usairforce and the #LongBlueLine.
