The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for week eight of the 2023 XV season. Bay Area Quarterback, Dalton Sneed, is the Offensive Player of the Week. Frisco Defensive Back, Michael LoVett, earns Defensive Player of the Week. Special Teams Player of the Week goes to Chase Albaugh, Kicker for the Quad City Steamwheelers.

Dalton Sneed – OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bay Area’s offense was an efficient machine on Saturday. They scored a touchdown on their first seven possessions. Which helped them jump out to a 42-18 halftime lead. For the game, the Panthers scored touchdowns on nine of their eleven possessions. Dalton Sneed led this effort masterfully. Sneed has consistently been one of the best quarterbacks in the league over the last two seasons. Saturday was his best performance to date. He finished the night completing 14 of 17 passes for 170 yards and seven touchdowns. On the season, Sneed has 109 passing attempts and only two interceptions.

Michael LoVett – DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

This was a great week for defensive performances. There were three or four performances that might have earned POTW in any other week. That makes this week’s recipient even more impressive. Michael LoVett, defensive back for the Frisco Fighters, has earned his second DPOTW award in three weeks. He did so by playing a big role in a dominant win over the Duke City Gladiators. The Gladiators were completely shut out in the first half and only scored 16 points total. This impressive defensive showing was led by LoVett. On the night, he compiled 1.5 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one pass breakup and two interceptions.

Chase Albaugh – SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kicking in indoor football is hard. That becomes obvious when you look at kicking efficiency across the league. Most kickers would love to be at 50%. The narrow uprights, along with other factors, make it very difficult to make the majority of their Field Goals or PAT’s. Quad City’s Chase Albaugh, however, had a very efficient night on Saturday. Chase went 1/1 on fields goals, 7/8 on PAT’s and he added a deuce to bring his point total to 12 points in the game.
