Our law library isn’t only for looking up statutes, it’s also home to history. For World Book Day, we’re giving you a peek into some of our oldest books.

One, A Popular and Practical Introduction to Law Studies covering British law, was written in 1835 by Samuel Warren, an English writer, lawyer, and politician. It was later released in the United States and has since been republished many times. This copy, published in 1886, has a chapter on the use and selection of law books for the American student.

Legal technology has come a long way since this book was printed, but justice never goes out of style.
