The community is DEMANDING Justice‼️😨💔

A disturbing video circulating online appears to show a woman being violently assaulted outside a nightlife area in Ottawa-Gatineau, sparking outrage across the community. 

Police and many people online are now looking for information about the individuals allegedly involved.

According to people sharing the footage, the woman is thankfully okay but reportedly suffered injuries. 

The video appears to show significant force being used against her while she is in an extremely vulnerable and largely defenceless position, which has left many viewers questioning how the situation was ever allowed to escalate this far.

Regardless of what may have happened before the recording began, physically assaulting another person can carry serious consequences under Canadian law. 

Self-defence also does not provide unlimited permission to use force. Under Canadian law, the circumstances and whether the force used was reasonable are important factors when determining whether an act was legally justified.

People online have also pointed out that at least one individual in the footage appears to be attempting to intervene or help during the incident.
