Fall camp is in full effect, as the Florida State Seminoles look to change the narrative in 2026 after winning just seven games in two years.

The Seminoles are in Jacksonville, Florida, for practice today and then will return to Tallahassee, Florida, to conduct a scrimmage on Sunday, August 9th.

Here are couple of key points that the coaching staff has brought up in their interviews with the media.

-I get people are tired of Florida State going to the transfer portal to grab quarterbacks with the recent misses of DJ Uiagalelei and Thomas Castellanos (who is suing the NCAA and looking to enter the portal after the new 5-for-5 ruling). Ashton Daniels looks to be doing everything that the staff has asked him to do.

-Running back Ousmane Kromah looks to be turning a corner in 2026 after not being a huge factor in his true freshman campaign. The Seminoles have plenty of mouths to feed in the rotation like Tre Wisner and Sam Singleton, but Kromah has been exceptional this offseason.

-It is easy to dismiss true freshmen until you see it on the field, but Jasen Lopez and Devin Carter have been everything that the Seminoles have wanted and more. Florida State brought back Duce Robinson and Micah Danzy, plus Tae’Shaun Gelsey and Teriq Mallory are still on the roster. If they can get Jayvan Boggs to remain healthy, then the sky could be the limit for the pass catchers.

-Daniel Lyons has been through thick and thin with the Seminoles and is entering his redshirt senior season. I get that Lyons has not been All-American caliber during his time in the Garnet and Gold, but the coaching staff has expressed the fact that he has take a step forward in his play and leadership. Will it matter when Florida State takes the field?

-Linebacker play has been underwhelming the last two years, but it looks like position coach Ernie Sims will have a certified baller in transfer linebacker Chris Jones, who was referred to as a “heat-seeking missile”. If Jones could tap into his 100-tackle season from a year ago, the defense could unlock another gear to help defensive coordinator Tony White in his second season in Tallahassee. 👀🍢 #fsufootball #floridastate #fsufallcamp
