The Providence College School of Business recently hosted its final round of the annual Fall Ethics Case Competition, held on Saturday, October 25 in the Ryan Center for Business Studies. Four student teams presented their recommendations on “The Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Medical Treatments, demonstrating remarkable analytical thinking, collaboration, and integrity. Judges, faculty, and students came together to explore the real-world implications of AI in healthcare and discuss how ethical decision-making guides modern business leadership. Dr. Patrick T. Kelly, Ph.D., Professor of Accountancy and Director of the Ethics in Business Education Program, reflected on the success of the event, noting: "We had another very successful Fall Ethics Case Competition this year, with 13 teams presenting their recommendations on "The Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Medical Treatments. The Ethics Competition underscores the value of integrity and critical thinking in shaping future business leaders. I am very proud of the students who participated in this competition. They developed wonderful case solutions that impressed the judges, and I am grateful for all those who supported this Competition - students who competed, their advisors, volunteer judges, and my colleagues from the School of Business who coordinated the preliminary round on Wednesday and the final round on Saturday." Congratulations to the winners of the competition, Molly Werner '27, Katherine Norris '27, Sabrina Salls '27, and Catherine Gaines '27, who will compete nationally representing Providence College in the spring.
