🕷️🏎️ Fernando Alonso’s F1 career has officially spanned three live-action Spider-Man eras, starting before Tobey Maguire ever put on the suit.

Alonso debuted for Minardi in 2001, while Maguire’s first Spider-Man film did not arrive until May 2002.

During the Tobey era, Alonso rose with Renault and won back-to-back World Championships in 2005 and 2006.

When Andrew Garfield took over as Spider-Man in 2012, Alonso was in the middle of one of his greatest Ferrari seasons, missing the championship to Sebastian Vettel by just three points.

Garfield’s run lined up almost perfectly with the closing years of Alonso’s Ferrari chapter, which ended after 2014.

Tom Holland debuted as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War in 2016, while Alonso was still grinding through the McLaren era.

Alonso then stepped away from F1 for two seasons, returned with Alpine in 2021, and later moved to Aston Martin, where he is still racing in 2026.

This is now Alonso’s 23rd F1 season, and his official career totals stand at 438 Grands Prix entered, 32 wins, 106 podiums and two World Championships.

The wild part is that an entire generation of fans has watched Hollywood reboot Spider-Man twice while Alonso has kept finding his way back onto the Formula 1 grid.

Which is crazier to you: Alonso’s longevity, or the fact that his career predates all three of these Spider-Man eras?

What are your thoughts? 🤔💭
