Bethel senior Lauryn Douglas (Sr. / North Mankato, Minn. / Mankato West) was named the MIAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Year after earning a perfect 10-0 record in conference play at the No. 1 singles position for the Royals during the 2025-26 season. Douglas has gone 25-1 overall throughout her senior campaign, with the lone blemish coming in the semifinals of the Midwest ITA Regional tournament in September 2025. She is the first Bethel player to be selected the MIAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Year since the award was established in 2022-23.

Douglas was also honored as the MIAC Chris Evert Award recipient. The award annually recognizes a senior women's tennis student-athlete who exhibits outstanding sportsmanship and exemplary athletic, academic, and humanitarian accomplishments. She is the second Royal in program history to receive the MIAC Chris Evert Award, joining 2022 recipient Grace Riermann.

"Lauryn is one of the fiercest competitors that I have ever had the pleasure to coach," Bethel head coach Drew Fernelius said. "Her accomplishments speak for themselves, but I am even more proud of the person that Lauryn has become in her four years here."

In addition to setting the program record for career wins and collecting All-America and Academic All-Conference honors for her success on the court and in the classroom along the way, Douglas has developed an appreciation for the community around her more than any individual accolades.

"Prior to college, I viewed tennis as an individual sport," Douglas said. "I quickly learned just how important your presence is to those around you. The camaraderie of my team has carried me through lows and celebrated me through highs. I have learned over time that doing well in a competition is as much about how I carry myself and treat others during the match, not just how I am playing." #d3tennis
