Over 40,000 fans showed up for the giveaway game honoring Leo XIV tonight! Ever since the papal conclave in 2025 elected Pope Leo an “identified” Sox fan, the team has embraced the tie.

Sister Mary Jo threw out the ceremonial first pitch and the White Sox say they had at least 40,615 hats in case EVERY SINGLE TICKET, including the suites, is used. Not a single other promotion has come close to matching this hype. 

The Pope Hat Night for the Chicago White Sox had lines forming outside the park well before the gates opened. Jesus Christ! 🙏
