How I’d spend the perfect day in London as a first-time visitor, from someone who has lived here for six years and planned hundreds of London trips.

🇬🇧 Breakfast at The Wolseley
A London institution in Mayfair and one of my favourite places to begin the day. Order the crème brûléed grapefruit for a very quintessentially British breakfast.

🇬🇧 Browse Fortnum & Mason
Pick up tea, biscuits and a few beautiful souvenirs to bring home.

🇬🇧 Walk through London’s historic shopping streets
Wander through Piccadilly Arcade and Burlington Arcade, then admire the storefronts along Bond Street and New Bond Street. Even without plans to shop, it’s worth the walk.

🇬🇧 Visit the National Portrait Gallery
Continue towards Trafalgar Square and spend a few hours inside one of my favourite museums in London.

🇬🇧 Grab lunch in Chinatown
After a morning on your feet, stop for something casual like dim sum, dumplings or noodles.

🇬🇧 Cross the Thames
Walk across either Golden Jubilee Bridge or Westminster Bridge for beautiful views of Big Ben and the London Eye.

🇬🇧 Walk along the South Bank
Take your time wandering beside the river and soaking up some of London’s most iconic views.

🇬🇧 Stop at Borough Market
Have a glass of wine and a little aperitivo at Bedales of Borough.

🇬🇧 Dinner at Casse-Croûte
When you’re ready for something that feels a little more neighbourhoodly, walk five minutes from Borough Market to this tiny French restaurant.

It’s a very full day, but for your first visit to my favourite city in the world, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

London is one of our absolute favourite cities to plan. We have wonderful relationships with hotels across the city and the local, on-the-ground knowledge to make your trip feel truly special, from choosing the right neighbourhood to planning experiences that go beyond the obvious.

Save this itinerary for later, or get in touch to start planning your own London trip. ✨
