What an incredibly powerful act of generosity.

Journalist Lauren Clark has shared her deeply personal experience of becoming an egg donor — from the hormone injections, scans and egg collection to the emotional reality of wondering whether one day, a child might be born because of her decision. 

For some people struggling to build their family, donor eggs aren’t simply another fertility treatment option — they can represent hope when other paths haven’t worked.

And behind every donated egg is a person who has made an extraordinary decision to help someone they may never even meet become a parent. 🫶

Lauren’s story also opens up an important conversation about why we need more egg donors — particularly donors from Black, Asian and other ethnically diverse communities, where shortages can mean longer waits for families hoping for an appropriate match.
