𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗜𝗟𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗖𝗨𝗣 𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝗔 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 🏆𝗜𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗔 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗢 𝗛𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬

First played in 1900 as the Junior Polo Championship to encourage rising players to take a more active role in major competition, the tournament has evolved alongside the sport for more than a century. Renamed the National Twenty Goal Championship in 1938, it officially became known as the Silver Cup in 1974.

From historic clubs and legendary teams to some of the greatest names in polo, the Silver Cup has been won by generations of the sport’s most accomplished players. More than 50 Polo Hall of Famers have claimed the title, including American 5-goaler Jeff Hall, who holds the record with 10 Silver Cup victories. Among the champions throughout the tournament’s history, only three women have etched their names onto the Silver Cup: Leigh Anne Hall (2004), Maureen Brennan (2007, 2008) and Sarah Siegel-Magness (2025). ✨

That legacy is reflected throughout the 2026 field, with nine competitors already holding Silver Cup titles. Mike Azzaro leads the group with three victories (1984, 1999, 2000). The 2020 championship teammates, Facundo Obregon and Nico Escobar, reunited this season for Zahedi Chogan, while Klentner Ranch returns with the core of its 2021 and 2024 championship teams, led by Justin Klentner, Jake Klentner and Jesse Bray and 2024 champion Nachi Viana. 🐎

After traveling to clubs across the country throughout its storied history, the Silver Cup returned to Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in 2020, where it now celebrates its seventh consecutive season in Carpinteria, California. 🌴

More than just a tournament or a trophy, each champion becomes part of a 126-year-old legacy, joining generations of players who have shaped the sport and continue to write its history today.
