the government of puerto rico told over 180,000 residents to prepare for water rationing starting friday..

but some communities were already living without reliable water - some even more than 100 days - long before this schedule was announced.

THIS IS BIGGER THAN A DROUGHT. it is years of neglected infrastructure, broken systems, failed planning, and political leaders waiting until another emergency to PERFORM urgency.

then the responsibility gets handed back to the people: store water, conserve, buy gallons, find transportation, rearrange your life, and somehow absorb the mental, physical, and financial toll of never knowing when a basic necessity will disappear.

you can’t store water the government already failed to provide.

this is the reality of being governed by people who create the crisis, then make surviving it your responsibility.
