Here’s what happened: 

I needed a video editor. 

I followed the usual process- Posted the job, got 200+ applications by morning, none from anyone whose actual work I'd seen.

So I watched reels in the exact editing style I wanted. 

A few videos later, my homepage transformed into a feed of editors showing off their best work.

The best people weren't applying. They were already proving it.

I handed the sorting to Codex: "Find every editor YouTube is recommending, check who's publicly reachable, tell me why they're worth contacting."

A minute later- five names, five emails, five reasons, plus personalized drafts ready to send.

Only contact people using publicly listed info, and keep it to a handful of relevant people, not a mass blast.
