These birbs may look like they're walking on water, thanks to the wattled jacana's uniquely adapted feet that keep them from sinking in wet environments. When spread out, their toe-tally remarkable toes and claws can cover an area of up to 5 by 8 inches, helping these feathered friends disperse their weight across floating vegetation and allowing them to stroll across lily pads.
