#TeamToyota Climb To The Clouds was the culmination of an obsession for 6 months. In those 6 months we debuted a new project, developed it, tested it with purpose, and made it faster every time it hit the track. The testing and development we got to do was more involved than anything I’ve been apart of in my entire life of motorsport and was very special for me. Shocks, tires, chassis balance, engine, turbos, diff strategies, we left nothing on the table to test with the parts we had available to us. Within those 6 months the last 3 were focused on hundreds of hours of course prep, memorization, multiple visits for recce, and sim training. I dedicated every bit of myself to this and I F***ing loved every part of it. Coming to the event we had a great setup for the car and I was mentally ready to push straight away. Mechanically we knew there were a couple things that could be an issue that needed more time and development to rectify. We hit the Auto Road in the #Celica Project @climbtotheclouds with speed right away setting times fast enough for P2 both practice days which really solidified all of our efforts and processes as a team. Game day came and we were more than ready. First run was only timed from bottom half due to weather at the top, fast enough for P2. Second and final run was going to be a full pull and the culmination of a very intense 6 months. We had a great start but a half mile in a mechanical issue came and I had to pull off to a safe spot in complete disbelief. We DNF’d. I am completely heartbroken. Being a New Hampshire native and given the opportunity to be a competitor at this race was special in itself. Just barely coming up for air now. We didn’t get our final shot but the experience these last 6 months is the real story. Being able to do all of this with some of my best friends, family, and amazing partners was the most special part of it all. There will always be another race. Thank you to everybody that played a role large and small 💪🏼
