August 3, 2026 — Larian has released a new set of Baldur's Gate 3 stats, and the worst of them, if you ask me, is this one: "More non-Dark Urge players have managed to murder Alfira than Dark Urge players."

For reference, Alfira is the lovely, blameless bard you encounter in BG3's grove area during Act 1. If you're playing Durge, the game forces you to kill her during a cutscene (though you can, technically, avoid it with a bit of metagame shenaniganry). When I played Durge, it honestly upset me a bit. Alfira really is a nice person, toe to tip.

But more people have simply elected to murder her than have been forced into it by the game's narrative. I'd guess that's down to people doing (non-Durge) evil playthroughs, but still—congratulations, players, you are all monsters.
