🎨 ENSLEY MURAL GETS REFRESH: An iconic piece of Birmingham public art is getting a new look! The Color Project mural in downtown Ensley is being restored more than a decade after it was first painted. Check it out👇

About the mural
📍 Located at 321 19th St. in Ensley
🖌️ Created by acclaimed Birmingham artist Ukuu Tafari, formerly known as Antjuan Oden, in 2015
🌈 It became the signature piece of The Color Project Ensley + helped spark a public-art movement in the community
❤️ It honors Ukuu's grandmother, Zula M. Dobynes, one of Ensley's first Black women business owners

What's new about it:
🎨 Vibrant colors are being restored to their original look
🌙 New silver + metallic details will reflect light from passing cars at night
📝 Ukuu will add a poem by the late Brian "Voice" Hawkins, who created The Color Project Ensley
