## Caption

A brush pen is a most versatile tool. It acts both like a fine liner and a brush. Deepest dark ink imparts impact. I ln a new town, I walk around with say 6 sheets stapled like in here to make a booklet. The pen is in the breast pocket. This way, the backpack never comes off as I walk a town to get to know its ways of being. It’s a superficial amount of time I have to feel a town, but it nevertheless calming and grounding. Often when I come back to hotel room moping because clearly I missed that intersection where I should have really sat and painted, I color these black and white sketches in - like a coloring book.
