Oreoluwa Osoba and his Miniature Schnauzer, known together as ogaduke_, have amassed a million followers by sharing heartwarming moments as dog dad and son. Despite the joy they bring to their audience, Oreoluwa’s creator journey began during one of the most difficult periods of his life. After losing a close family member, he struggled with his mental health. In the midst of this dark period, his decision to adopt Duke completely changed his life. 

Now, together with Duke, Oreoluwa uses their content to share love, patience, responsibility, and the idea that pets are family. His main goal is to use their platform to promote animal welfare, encourage responsible pet ownership, and have open conversations about mental health and emotional well-being.

“Sharing our story is my way of reminding others that hope and healing can come from unexpected places. Whether someone watches our videos to laugh, learn, or simply smile after a difficult day, I want them to leave feeling a little happier and a little more inspired than when they arrived.”

But Oreoluwa and Duke’s impact has gone beyond Instagram. 

“Families tell me they use my videos to communicate with their children about kindness, patience, and understanding. Teachers from different countries have shared that they use my content in their classrooms to engage students and teach empathy, communication, and compassion. Knowing that simple moments between Duke and me are helping families connect and supporting education around the world is the greatest success I could ask for.”

And his success both on Instagram and IRL started with his decision to post authentically, an approach he encourages all creators to follow.

“My biggest advice is to stay authentic. Don’t create content just to chase trends, views, or follower counts. The creators who build lasting communities are the ones who share stories that genuinely reflect who they are.”
