Today, with the support of the sharjahbookauthority, UNESCO is working to digitize these collections and open them to researchers, educators and the public around the world.

Behind every digitized document are archivists, conservators and collection specialists whose work often remains unseen.

Removing staples one by one. Inspecting film reels frame by frame. Restoring photographs. Verifying metadata.

Because archives are more than records of the past. They help us understand how international cooperation was built and inspire the solutions we need for the future.
