#ForImmediateRelease: The Stow-Munroe Falls City School District is pleased to welcome two new elementary principals for the new school year: Sean Daugherty at Riverview Elementary and Brian Falhamer at Woodland Elementary.

Daugherty brings 17 years of experience in education, including nine years in the classroom as both an educational aide and teacher and eight years in school administration. Most recently, he served as principal of Brown Middle School in Ravenna City Schools and previously led West Main Elementary, where he focused on strengthening instruction, implementing evidence-based literacy practices and promoting a positive school culture. Under his leadership, the school earned multiple recognitions, including PBIS Bronze, Purple Star and the Governor's Recognition for the Science of Reading. He holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Walden University.

Falhamer brings 16 years of experience in education, including nearly a decade in school leadership. Most recently, he served as principal of Fort Island Primary School in the Copley-Fairlawn City School District, where he championed student achievement through data-driven instruction, strengthened school culture through PBIS and MTSS initiatives, and fostered meaningful community partnerships. He earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Akron and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education at Youngstown State University with a focus on trauma-informed educational leadership.

"Our elementary principals play a critical role in creating environments where every child can learn and grow," said Superintendent Dr. Felisha Gould. "Sean and Brian are experienced, student-centered leaders who understand the importance of building strong relationships with students, staff, and families. We are confident they will have a positive impact on their school communities and help continue the tradition of excellence across our district."

Daugherty and Falhamer will officially begin leading their respective schools this fall as they prepare to welcome students and staff for the new school year.
