TAIWANESE RICE BURRITO WITH BRAISED PORK BELLY IN HAYWARD, CA

My bad ya, I meant to say Hayward! I got confused cause it’s borderline Union City.

The last time I was here I believe it was 2023. They had pre packaged cooked plates. This time I didn’t see any of that but they do have authentic Taiwanese rice burritos (Fan Tuan) and I believe they have some other stuff on the menu. I got the braised pork belly. It’s rolled with sticky rice on the outside and inside it has dried radish, five spice bean burd, donut (does anybody know what this is?) and Chinese pickles. The lady told me they don’t use the vegetarian floss that was on the menu because she said it would be too salty. I loved the roll. The braised pork belly was slightly sweet and hella tender. There’s something crunchy and in guessing it’s the donut or dried radish? Whatever it is I love the crunch to balance out the sticky rice. Next time I’m gonna try the other ones with hot chili oil and next time I’ll be more prepared for the mess 😂
