WEEKEND RECAP 📸

One thing I’ve learned about being a photographer and digital media creator: no two weekends look the same, and that’s exactly what I love about this work.
This weekend took me from hockey rinks and training facilities to a golf course, the shores of Lake Michigan, and a college football facility. Four completely different environments, four incredible groups of people, and a whole lot of opportunities to create.

 FRIDAY // GHOST ATHLETICA
I started the weekend working with Ghost Athletica, Ghost Goaltending, and Dr. Jamie Phillips, capturing both on-ice and gym training sessions.
What stood out most was the focus on helping local athletes push beyond the average and take their development seriously.
I had the opportunity to create photography for their marketing team to help showcase what they’re building right here in West Michigan. It’s always rewarding to work with organizations that are investing in the next generation of athletes.

After Ghost, I headed over to Patterson Ice Center to photograph a charity tournament featuring local professional and pre-professional hockey players.
More hockey. Different atmosphere. Same goal: tell the story through the images.

SATURDAY // TANNERS SPRK ON THE WORLD
Saturday started bright and early at the Tanners SPRK on the World golf outing.
This is an organization that is especially meaningful to me, and I’m always grateful for opportunities to give my time and skills back to organizations doing incredible work in our community.

Then came a pretty significant change of scenery.
I headed to Muskegon for the Great Lakes Surf Festival, volunteering and providing photography for the event for the first time.
If you know me, you know I love the water, surfing, and anything that brings a little bit of Hawai'i back into my life, so this event was right up my alley.
Going from an ice rink to the Lake Michigan shoreline in the same day was definitely a change of pace, but one I was more than happy to make.

SUNDAY // DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL
Finally, Sunday morning brought me to Davenport University for Football media day.
This is my first season working with the program, and I’ve already had an incredible experience getting to know the team and creating content for them.
I’m genuinely proud of what we created and excited to see where this season takes us.
4 events. 4 different environments. 1 weekend.
This is exactly why I love what I do.

Below are some of my favorite moments from the weekend.
Which one is your favorite? hockey, golf, surfing, or football?
