The Visionary: Pingali Venkayya 👨‍🌾 It started with Pingali Venkayya, a freedom fighter and agricultural scientist. In 1921, he presented the initial design to Mahatma Gandhi. His vision brought together the colors representing India's diverse communities and aspirations.

The Evolution: Gandhi & The Charkha 🧶 Mahatma Gandhi played a crucial role in shaping the flag. He suggested adding a White Stripe to symbolize peace and protection for minorities. He also championed the inclusion of the Charkha (Spinning Wheel) to represent self-reliance—a suggestion originally noted by Hansraj of Jalandhar.
