Just because you found someone fast doesn’t mean you actually know them.

I used to make guys FaceTime me before agreeing to a dinner date. It was a good filter for one thing — whether I wanted to spend two hours with them. But it told me nothing about whether they were right for me. That takes seeing someone in a few different situations, watching how they treat people, hearing how they talk about their exes.

And if anyone is pushing you to hurry that part along — a guy, a friend, your mom, whoever — pay attention to it. Someone who’s actually good for you isn’t worried about you taking your time, because he’s not worried about what you’ll find out.
