Cameroon took the lead against defending champions Nigeria in the 2026 WAFCON quarterfinals with an incredible long-range free kick from Myriam Nyadjou in the 18th minute.

Nyadjou unleashed a spectacular strike from distance that left Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie with no chance, producing one of the best goals of the tournament.

The stunning goal proved to be the difference as Cameroon defeated Nigeria 1-0, advanced to the 2026 WAFCON semifinals, and secured qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
