Cameroon pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the 2026 WAFCON, defeating defending champions Nigeria 1-0 in a dramatic quarterfinal clash.

Myriam Nyadjou scored the only goal of the match with an incredible long-range free kick in the 18th minute, while goalkeeper Michaely Bihina delivered a heroic performance to keep the Super Falcons off the scoresheet.

Nigeria pushed relentlessly for an equalizer, but Bihina produced save after save as the Indomitable Lionesses protected their narrow lead until the final whistle.

With the victory, Cameroon advances to the 2026 WAFCON semifinals and secures qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. It is only Cameroon's second victory over Nigeria in 14 WAFCON meetings, while the defending champions see their title defense come to a stunning end.
