World’s largest oil and gas corporations are closing another bumper earnings season as households face rising energy, transport and food costs and a deepening climate crisis. ⁣

Communities are paying with their homes, their harvests and their lives. Late-June heatwaves alone killed more than 10,000 people across Europe, a deadly heatwave is now gripping parts of East Asia, while current wildfires are forcing hundreds of thousands to flee their homes in countless countries, including another 20,000 in Canada as British Columbia declared a state of emergency on Saturday.⁣

Governments must make oil and gas corporations and the super-rich pay for the climate damage they have caused, in order to fund a fair, green and resilient future.⁣
